Musiques du monde
The story of the Amadou Bagayoko-Mariam Doumbia couple began in 1975, when they met at the Bamako Institute for Blind Youth (Mali), where they soon discovered their musical affinities. They married five years later. Their career was given a major boost ten years ago when Manu Chao fell in love with their afro-blues dance music and produced the album “Dimanche à Bamako,” which opened up the whole world to them.
It’s a pleasure to announce the return of one of the Festival’s favourite acts, who were lauded last February at the Victoires de la musique for their latest album, “Folila.”
