MES AÏEUX (Saturday, July, 5) Scène Bell des Plaines d'Abraham Mes Aïeux is a lively Quebec born-and-bred “funklore” group which, in its own words, has been “whittled into shape” by artisans from “chez nous.” Following a short stay in Paris, the six-member band is currently at work composing and recording the songs for their next album. Lucky festival-goers will be given a sneak preview of some of their tunes – ahead of the coming craze.

CHARLES AZNAVOUR, with LYNDA LEMAY opening (Sunday, July 6) Scène Bell des Plaines d'Abraham Aznavour is at the peak of his artistic powers as never before. The living legend who has sung “Bohème” the world over and recorded no fewer than 44 albums – 786 unforgettable songs – in his lengthy, illustrious career, will be returning to Québec City as part of a triumphant tour begun October 9, 2007 at the Paris Palais des Congrès. In a particularly fitting choice, the gifted, acclaimed singer-songwriter Lynda Lemay (three million albums sold), a native of the greater Québec City area, will have the honour of being the opening act.

FERGIE (Monday, July 7) Scène Bell des Plaines d'Abraham The celebrated, venerated “Duchess” of Pop/R&B, Stacy Ferguson – alias Fergie – will be making a Québec City stop that promises to be memorable. The famed female singer behind the hip-hop Black Eyed Peas, Fergie has been also pursuing an amazingly prolific solo career, with to her credit such world megahits as “London Bridge,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Fergalicious” and “Glamorous.” Her appearances on stage alone qualify as head-turning events.

YES (Saturday, July 12) Scène Bell des Plaines d'Abraham Quebecers could be qualified as prog rock diehards – so they are likely to rejoice at news that Yes will be making an appearance at the Festival. The British supergroup soared to fame and busted charts in the 70s with such pieces as “Roundabout,” “I’ve Seen All Good People” and “Close To The Edge.” Today, they hit the road with original band members Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White, along with newcomer Oliver Wakeman (the son of Rick) on keyboards.

LINKIN PARK (Sunday, July 13) Scène Bell des Plaines d'Abraham From the dawn of the millennium, Linkin Park has emerged as one of the leading bands of its generation. Practicing a form of musical hybridization involving nu-metal, rap and electronica, the California six-piece has delivered hit after hit in a very short period of time (e.g., “Somewhere I Belong, “Numb, “Faint, “What I’ve Done…) and garnered several major awards, including best band at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007.
